The Carolina Inn, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

Location and staff were the 2 that I like the most. A young man named David was very helpful and attentive to my needs.

One of the room, 220, was very small and somewhat difficult in which to move aroun.

Location and breakfast

The "Crossroads Bar" is too small to host wedding parties which it frequently does on the weekends. The rest of the hotel guests get pushed out--this was a BIG turnoff about this hotel. There was no other dining area for casual dining, only the formal dining room. The hotel loses casual dining traffic because of that -- I went to Franklin Street.

Beautiful historic inn, very comfortable bed, great resturant and very friendly staff.

Great stay. Food was excellent, atmosphere was terrific. Looks like a perfect venue for business meetings 100 or less. Location perfect .

Great in every way

We stayed in The Carolina Inn about 10 years ago and loved it for it's spacious, old-style rooms and the charm of an old inn. SInce then, the hotel has been remodeled and the hotel has lost all of its earlier charm. Now the rooms are what you would find in any chain hotel. I think they also made the rooms smaller in order to book more guests. We loved it the way it was and was disappointed in the changes. They also add $14 daily to park in their lot, and the staff were not all that attentive to raising the gate for us to get into the lot; both days we had to get out of our car and go find someone to open the gate. With the cost of the rooms being what they were, I think they could allow their guests to park for free.

Excellent location. Quiet environment.

Would like to have had a microwave in room.
