Norbreck Castle Hotel

Stayed on two seperate occasions and enjoyed both times would book again next time in blackpool

We had a very enjoyable 2 nights. Loved having breakfast looking out to sea and It was nice to have somewhere pleasant to sit in the evenings.

A three star hotel with lots of entertainment for the grandchildren. We were particularly impressed with the Cinema and swimming pool. We would return to this hotel however we would like to see more attention being given to the cleanliness of the bathroom. There should also be an improvement in the meals offered for the childrens menu.

FIRSTLY I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WHEN WE FIRST ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL AND WAS TOLD THAT ALL THOUGH THE ROOM WAS READY WE WERE ASKED TO GO BACK AT 4.30 PM. THERE WAS A VERY LARGE COACH PARTY THAT CAME AT THE SAME TIME, WE DULY LEFT NOT REALLY KNOWING WHAT TOT DO, SO WE CAUGHT THE TRAM INTO BLACKPOOL, WE ARRIVED BACK AT THE HOTEL ABOUT 4PM, ONLY TO FIND ANOTHER TWO COACHES HAD ARRIVED. IT WAS UTTER CHAOS SOMETHING RESEMBLING FAULTY TOWERS, WE WAITED, AND WAITED, AS WE LOOKED AROUND, WE WERE TRYING TO FIND THE RELAXING CONSERVETORY, WE FOUND IT, IT RESEMBLED A WORKING MENS CLUB JUST TABLES AND CHAIRS, NO RELAXING FURNITURE, JUST CANTEEN LIKE. WE WERE SHOWN ON A MAP WHERE OUR ROOM WAS. WHEN EVENTUALLY WE GOT TO THE 4TH FLOOR, BECAUSE THEIR WAS ONLY ONE LIFT AT THIS PARTICULAR END OF THE HOTEL., WE FOUND OUR ROOM, ALMOST, IT COULD BE SAID A CUPBOARD, IT WAS REAS0NABLY CLEAN BUT VERY VERY OLD. THE DOUBLE BED WAS A VERY SMALL ONE, BUT THE BATHROOM WAS VERY LARGE IN COMPARRISON. THERE WAS A DEFINATE ODOUR TO THE HOTEL WHICH WAS UNPLEASENT. WE DID CONTEMPLATE MOVING ON SOMEHWERE ELSE, BUT BY NOW IT WAS NEARLY 6 O'CLOCK SO WE DECIDED TO STAY, A BAD IDEA. TO SAY THE LEAST. WE BOOKED DINNER BUT THE DINING ROOM AGAIN RESEMBLED A SCHOOL DINING ROOM, THE TABLES DID NOT EVEN HAVE TABLE CLOTHS ON THEM, I HAVE NEVER EVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. WE WALKED STRAIGHT ON PASSED AND ATE ELSEWHERE. THE MORNING AFTER WE THOUGHT WE WOULD TRY THE BREAKFAST. WELL, AGAIN SCHOOL HALL, IT WAS AWFUL, ONLY ONE CUP OF COFFEE WAS OFFERED AND WHEN I ASKED FOR TEASPOONS THE WAITER JUST CARRIED ON TALKING TO HIS COLLEUGE AS THOUGH I WAS INVISIBLE, WE DRANK OUR CUP OF COFFEE AND LEFT, NEVER TO RETURN TO THAT PART AGAIN. THIS MAY SEEM A LITTLE DRAMATIC BUT I ASSURE YOU IT WAS NOT, NOTHING THAT WAS SAID ABOUT THE HOTEL IN ITS WRITE UPS WERE UP TO SCRATCH, WHEN WE ARRIVED THERE WAS TRAYS WITH USED CUPS AND SAUCERS LITTERING THE WINDOWS OF THE RECEPTION. THE RECEPTION WAS BADLY MANNED TO SAY THE WORLD AND HIS WIFE WERE BOOKING IN. IT WAS OK IF YOU WERE ON A LOW BUDGET, WE JUST THOUGHT WE HAD BARGAIN, BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT, HOPE THEY NEVER CHARGE THE £280 WHICH IS THE PRICE ON THE INTERNET, WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN AND WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RECOMMEND IT. WE GO TO BLACKPOOL OFTEN AND STAY MORE CENTRAL, BUT HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTRIGUED BY THE CASTLE AND UNFORTUNATELY IS WAS WELL UNDER PAR. THE STAFF WERE SHORT AND CURT WITH RESIDENTS AND OFFENDED ONE OLDER LADY BECAUSE THE RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT LISTENING TO HER PROPERLY, WE WERE TOTALLY PUT OFF THIS. WE COULD NOT WAIT TO GET OUT AND BREATH THE FRESH AIR. ALSO AT THE THREE IN THE MORNING THERE WAS YOUNGER PEOPLE RUNNING ABOUT THE CORRIDORS AND MAKING COMPLETE NUICENCES OF THEMSELVES, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

A little disappointed with the Norbreck - cleanliness was quite poor for a hotel of this size, the organisation at meal times was shocking - had to ask 4 times for someone to come and take our orders for the children meals and when the childrens meals did arrive they looked and tasted disgusting- obviously cooked and re cooked. Room was cleaner than the general front of the hotel. Location abit too far from the main attractions but for the price it was reasonable. Dont think I would stop there again

All-good. Hotel very large, lost in the crowd. Complicated access to the room, but staff is helping. Fatal setting furniture in the room. Breakfast as the site, socialist canteens. Inconvenient hour check-in/out. As for the match and set the furniture in the rooms, I can help

Not the best, but certainly not the worst

Hotel staff very good but hotel needs money spending on it.one room was fine second room plaster off the wall in bathroom and still on floor when we arrived but after we complained it was moved.breakfast one of the best we have had.parking brilliant even after we booked out we could leave car on car park.entertainment good.
