Main reason for choosing Middletons Hotel: Location
The complex of houses makes a cozy welcoming impression. Reception room and dining room are very nice.
The rooms are getting used to German standards and at least the rooms we inhabit should urgently renovated and the carpet are removed. However, since we have no comparison with other English hotels, we can not judge the standard.

The staff were very helpfull, very polite and friendly room was very comfortable and clean, very well situated close to town, gardens are beautiful, like being in the country, would reccomend it to our friends if they asked for a nice place to stay.

The big bed and crisp white sheets the location was good as you could see the river from our window free parking too which was good.
Would much rather have a buffet style breakfast on a bigger table. Bathroom was nice but pictures made it look nicer quite disappointed, as this was a special treat I had upgraded but found it over priced.

Helpful staff.
I did not sleep well because our bed had blankets instead of a duvet. I havent' used blankets for years and I found it really uncomfortable and this outweighed the otherwise excellent service.

Helpful staff and pleasant public rooms with an very good breakfast
The corridors to rooms in need of decoration-some internal stairways only concre-the bedrooms smelt of damp and although clean the towels and bedding threadbare. The bedrooms in desperate need of re-decoration.

Helpful staff, convenient location
Hotel restaurant closes at 9.00pm, I was a late arrival at 9.30pm and was advised to walk into town and get a take away and bring it back to my room! Not impressed.

The room was fantastic, beautiful, clean and big, with very comfy bathroom. The hotel is in a very good place, centre to many things.
The wifi was accessible only near the reception and it is a pity that one cannot access it from the room because after a day out or travelling one needs to rest and check certain things on the net in the comfort of the room.
Another thing was the breakfast, there should be more co-ordination, once we waited for nearly 30 mins to order, then the toasted bread arrives 15mins before the actual breakfast and so it cooled until we ate it with the full english breakfast. The waiters were all very nice and helpful.

The room was outside accross a little bridge put in some numbers to open the outside door, go through another door and shock, horror this little tiny bedroom with a bedcover that has seen better days. I felt like I was in the outside barn it was awful. The bathroom was ok. I went back over and said I would only stay 1 night 67 pounds for that. I had just done Cornwall, then up to Scotland I was so impressed. This place was a disappontment such a pretty town.
