We had our Mother's 80th surprise birthday party there on Aug 19, 2017. Jessica Dunn was instrumental in helping us to stay within our budget, got with the Chef for a custom menu, and the party was a great success. She moved us to the Mustang II room, for our comfort, since we were expecting 40 adults. The staff, waitstaff and coordinators were so accommodating, always making our requests happen, regardless of what they were, they just did it. We did not hear "we can't do that, we don't do that, etc." They all went over and above, (and very gracious about it), to make our Mom's Special Day a HUGH Success. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL INVOLVED!!! What a Wonderful Place. Our Party was exciting,fun and problem free. AND THE FOOD MELTED IN YOUR MOUTH!!! Thanks to the wonderful Chef... The Bellmen were awesome to come and unload our cars, and load them up again, and a SPECIAL thanks to the Sweet Valet guy who volunteered to go get my car that was in the Spa lot. I don't think I could have walked another step, I was so tired. This event was 3 months in the planning, and we were NOT disappointed that we chose The Gaylord Resort. Staying at the Gaylord is like stepping into another world. Everything is top notch and so convenient. And the staff is exceptionally friendly. I'd like to give a special shout out to Ross, Marc, Ashley and Joey on the front desk. They were extremely helpful, friendly, patient and just an over all pleasure to deal with. Also Rick, the shuttle bus driver who took us to and from Paradise Springs. He is so outgoing and friendly we felt like he really cared about us and wanted to help us enjoy ourselves. It was like we were riding with a close friend or family member, not just some guy making a living driving tourists back and forth in a bus.

No place in the hotel to get a snow cone. Maybe add a small snow cone stand for summer time shaved ice addicts. Also, none of the available TV channels had "The Real House Wives" shows. I thought that was a blessing but my wife didn't like it.

Great familyatmosphere

It was so nice to be able to walk from our room to eat dinner. We enjoyed feeling like we were outside, but without the brutal Texas heat. Our room was very comfortable and felt relaxing.

My kids especially liked the water park, there was a lazy river, kids zone with water cannons and tipping buckets, and also an older kid area with zip line and a bigger slide. There is also a hotel pool that one can take outside food and adult beverages into.. Overall, I would go back in a heart beat.

Guests need to remember this is a resort not a hotel, amenities are much nicer here. There is a Whataburger down the street for breakfast, you can order dominos pizza anytime. Resort food was too expensive.
