Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale

Very visually attractive interior. Staff gracious. 19th floor restaurant with views of New Haven where breakfast was served. Within walking distance of the Yale museums (several blocks) and good restaurants.

It's a nice formal hotel in the heart of New Haven. Parking garage is safe.

If noise bothers you at night and you are there on a Friday, maybe Saturday, or Wed night before Thanksgiving, ask for a room that is not on the Temple STreet side of the hotel. There are college partiers at the bars on Temple Street and there is quite a bit of noise until last call at 1:30AM.

Everything was OK

I liked the friendliness and attentiveness of the bellhops and the front desk staff. I also liked the strong, forceful shower.

The bathrooms inside the guest rooms are not being cleaned adequately at all. I could tell that my bathroom has been cleaned only marginally on an ongoing basis because it didn't smell or look fresh. I went to a nearby Rite Aid, picked up some disinfectant, paper towels, and disinfectent wipes to try cleaning myself. Of particular note are the evidence that tub doesn't get scrubbed and the face bowl was nasty. There was visible mildew around the upper rim where the bowls is sunken into the counter. Because it was so unclean, I couldn't even brush my teeth there. I had to go buy bottled water and create a make shift teeth cleaning station away from the face bowl. I am certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that my room was not dirty because of a mixup resulting in me being put in a room that had not been cleaned. Rather, the nature of the dirt was such that the cleaning is just not being taken seriously on an ongoing basis, so it is not sanitary in the bathroom. It was a disappointment. :-(

The staff, all were very nice.

There was paint chipping off the ceiling in the bathroom. I had a paint chip on my shoulder when I got out of the shower. The carpet was dirty. I walked in new white sox for a very short time and they were so dirty I had to change them. Ear plugs left with a note saying for "outside city noise". They are really needed because the heat and air unit is so old that the noise from it would keep anyone up at night.

Very comfortable hotel. Quiet room. Beautiful lobby. Easy parking.

Would have liked a coffee shop with ample seating. We went to the Starbucks down the street instead.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was extremely helpful and warm, always smiling, always kind. The location is perfect for us since I go visit my two sons who are students at Yale.

Not that It was bad, but we tried the Brunch buffet once and we all agreed that it was not the best we have had.
