Main reason for choosing Holiday Inn Express Houghton-Keweenaw, an IHG Hotel: Facilities
The staff was very accommodating due to the fact that my flights were cancelled the first night and couldn't get there so they refunded my money that night. Also, flights were delayed going out and they again were accommodating and said they could easily find a room for me if I needed one. But that wasn't necessary as we were able to finally get the flight out.

Breakfast was great, hotel was clean and grounds were clean. Pool was excellent.
Staff was very friendly but not enough people working in the evening on such a busy weekend. We had a problem with TV at 6pm and there was nobody there to fix it--only one person working at the desk and no other staff to help him. This was a busy weekend where they were booked solid and only one person on staff? Also, Sunday night the hot tub blew a circuit and was not working...the same one staff member had to try and deal with that. He was very sweet and calm under pressure but we felt bad for him.

Excellent hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff was helpful. Unfortunately, the weather turned nasty at the end, so I did not stay the last night of my planned three day stay.

The location was good, the rooms themselves were very nice. I had ordered a room for one adult and three children and it was great that we had a main room then a bedroom off to the side--like a little suite. It was nice that each of the rooms had a television. We'll definitely be staying here in the future.
The building was being renovated, so things were kind of messy on the main floor of the hotel; however, that's what happens with renovations--no huge deal. On another note, we opened the mini-fridge to put our water/sodas in and it smelled like something had died in it--we didn't use it.
