Mercure Edinburgh City - Princes Street Hotel

Super location. Directly at Princess Street and a short distance up the Old Town. Also a plus that the bus stops almost outside the hotel. Superb views of Mount Royal from the breakfast restaurant. Recommend to book a room with utsikt.Passer also good for travel companies where some will go shopping and someone will walk in the park and Old Town. Short distance to both.

Breakfast system too rigid and uninspired with string table position and little flexibility.

Friendly staff, and convenient location.

No air-conditioning! This is the second time I have stayed at the Ramada, and both times there was a heat-wave! I did book a twin-room, but was allocated a small single room on the top floor, with a small narrow bed - I am 6ft 2inches tall, and weigh 200 pounds! MOST IMPORTANT - I had the offer of a Discount Code, but your site did not permit me to enter it. I did mention it on my booking with your Co. but the Hotel had no record, and although I mentioned it to the Counter Staff upon departure, I heard no more. (I would not have expected the full discount in view of your Company's involvement in my booking, but any remaining balance after payment of your commission would have been a nice gesture by the Hotel.)

The location

Attendance unacceptable at all opposed to the characteristics that define the hotel, that the "industry's smile", where attention to the customer is the ultimate quality of hospitality, the tiny space of the rooms, the requirement in check in, the client has to accept not only the prerequisite of guaranteeing the full payment of accommodation as - imagime themselves - the addition of £ 50.00 per night for other expenses.

The staff were very friendly and obliging. The view of the castle was amazing.

In addition to the relatively high price of the hotel additional charge for tel call (2 pounds to 800 no). Additional charge for using WiFi (5 pound per hour). Long lines to the recption (only one in the reception).

Most, good service, friendly and helpful staff which is really important when you come to another country where you do not know everything and might want some tips on tours, etc..

It was a very comfortable room and the view of the castle at breakfast was magnificant.
