SpringHill Suites by Marriott West Mifflin

Had to move furniture to open sleeper sofa for grandson. Breakfast was just ok.

The check-in staff was great as well as other staff members we dealt with. The pool was fun and the eating area was nice. The room was nice and big.

The bed linens had stains on them as well as the couch. You could hear a lot of the talking people did in other rooms

1. The courtesy of the kitchen staff in providing pineapple on the weekend when they don't usually serve it. The Young lady from Wheeling West Va. was most helpful. The policy of not serving on the weekend should be changed to include the entire week. Grapefruit slices are an additional suggestion.

1. Employees leave front desk and smoke at front entrance leaving the putrid odor for whoever arrives through the front door. Recommend moving smoking area a distance from the front entrance. 2. One bottle opener in the hotel as a courtesy of the front desk. Recommend having openers available for the guests. They are inexpensive and could bear the Hotels logo and address/phone no.

That they offered a shuttle to the nearby parks.

The beds were very small. It would've been nice to have a door on the bathroom when getting ready in the morning instead of waking everyone up. There was not a lot out for breakfast - had to keep asking to have food put out. Our room was very noisy with the traffic. Thermistats in the room would be nice instead of the controls - hard to regulate the temperature.

It was an easy drive from downtown Pittsburgh. Great location as there were stores and restaurants in close proximity.

Our room smelled like old cigarettes.

Cleanliness, staff

Rooms on the front side of the inn are very noisy due to the traffic. Especially the constant flow of large trucks.

About the staff: The breakfast attendent was very helpful. I use a walker and she offered to help asking me what I wanted and she brought it to me. She was very attentive.

The heating system was noisey, the king size bed mattress kept sliding. The handiecap bathroom shower area: the bench was too far from the shower, the shower nozzle only went up and down, could not use as a hand held nozzle. Near the shower head area the water did not stay in the drain area and went onto the bathroom floor. The shower area floor does not have enough of a slant toward the drain where the shower is attached to the wall. I know the place is being remodeled, maybe you can build up the floor tile about 1/2 inch strip about a foot long from the shower head wall. Change the shower nozzle to be lifted and long enough to reach the bench instead of sliding it up and down.
