The Barclay Towers Resort Hotel

This has to be one of the best-smelling hotels/motels I've ever stayed in. That sounds trite, but it was noticeable how pleasant it smells everywhere we went in the facility. The staff is very friendly and helpful.The facility itself is very nice, all oceanfront rooms, nicely appointed, AC/heat very responsive, plenty of amenities.

The only thing I liked about this hotel is that it is oceanfront.

The hotel is old, it is filthy, and the elevators were broken. The continental breakfast was disgusting. At one point, both of the elevators were broken, leaving us with no option but to walk up and down five flights of stairs. Completely unacceptable.

We loved the location and that it was right on the beach.

Yes. We had two small children with us & during our stay in the hotel room, there was small pieces of broken glass along the edge of the carpet that one of my children cut there foot on & we notified the staff and they acted like it was no big deal and was rude and came up later that day and vacuumed it up, but missed several pieces along the carpets edge, and the rest of our stay we all had to wear shoes in our hotel room.

Good Location.

The Barclay Tower Resort Hotel was NOT clean. Elevators didn't operate very well at one time it was down to one and we had to take the stairs several times with baby and stroller. On check-out we had to carry our luggage out by hand because a cart was not available. There was a terrible smell in the room that I reported and had to end up calling the manager to get a response. Someone had a accident in the pool and we had been told that the pool had been cleaned. We went to check the pool and the pool still had something floating around that shouldn't have been there. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone I like.
