Staff was very helpful. Allowed us to check in hours early, patiently answered all our questions, gave great directions, etc.
Would have liked softer pillows and a 2nd chair in the room.

Typically we find that in older hotels the drains have not been maintained. Slow drains in both the sink and tub area are a problem that should be addressed.

Great location and friendly staff.
I had requested a room with a view of the sound and the hotel was far from full but I overlooked the Subway Sandwitch shop. there is almost no parking. The rooms are a bit dated which is okay but not reflected in the price.

The wait staff in the hotel restaurant was great. She knew me by the second meal and took care of me.
It is getting quite dated. The heating system doesn't work very well--too hot--- and you get about a one minute shower before it turns cold.

Convenient location. Front desk personnel and housekeeping staff very pleasant.
Terrible food, outrageously overpriced liquor, even by Alaska standards.

The location was the best, easy walking distance to downtown. Maids did a wonderful job cleaning the rooms.
Elevators are old, slow and don't always detect the doors open button or in my case the doors open button and my hand to stop the door. It severly sprained my hand, turning it black and blue. When it was not better the next day, I went to the front desk and told them what happened, the response "Yea it got the maid yesterday too" and she handed me an incident report to fill out...my response, "don't you think someone should call for maintenance or repair?" I got no response. If this incident had not happened, the Staff rating probably would be a 8, and services/facilities would be an 8.
