Main reason for choosing Hyatt Place Santa Fe: Reputation
Excellent hotel, excellent room and a/c - staff was very good and pleasant - most appreciated was the absence of overly scripted pleasantries you so common today -- the smiley faced "how are you today?" "is there anything else I can help with?", etc etc. Just nice normal people are what I appreciate.
The food could by of slightly better quality - e.g. enchiladas, roasted not processed turkey meat in the club sandwich. But still good enough.

Main reason for choosing Hyatt Place Santa Fe: Rate
Hotel was clean and modern; staff was nice and friendly; beds were clean and comfortable.
Location was a little far from the Plaza; VERY noisy at night. Rooms were made to be quiet - noise was coming from somewhere else in the hotel or maybe even outside. Much "clanging and banging" type noise. Hotel staff seemed unaware of the problem but it kept us awake. :(

We really loved our stay. The staff was great. The location is advertised as 2o minutes from the plaza. I was a little worried about that. Not to worry. The free shuttle to the plaza really made our trip stress free. I can't believe they don't advertise the shuttle. The room was great, especially the furnishings. The staff was so helpful and friendly.
The breakfast could have been a little eaisier to understand. Some is free and some you order. To be fair it was a holiday weekend and really buisy.
