Red Lion Inn & Suites Olympia, Governor Hotel

They have done a good job remodeling physically.

Unfortunately, the toxic materials used in remodeling are off-gasing throughout the building. Additionally, there is no way to control heat in the room. It was broiling.

The location was ideal.

There were several issues with my room that were not resolved during my 4-night stay. The hot/cold water was reversed in the shower. When I reported this, it was apparently already known and would take major work to fix it. Though it was a known issue, they didn't communicate this when I checked in, nor was it marked in the shower. Instead, it was blamed on the "previous owners." The faucet in the bathroom sink was stripped and turned round and round and never changed the water temperature. Again, this was not resolved and was blamed on the previous owners. There was something wrong with the TV and it tuned to the wrong channel. Though the TV indicated that I was tuned to NBC, I was actually seeing The Discovery Channel, ESPN played CSPAN, etc. After cycling through all the channels repeatedly, I was never able to find ABC, NBC or CBS. After multiple complaints, it was still not resolved when I checked out.

Friendly staff, good service, room was fine, parking was close, location was excellent.

I like the convenient location.

You need to finish your remodeling. There is no breakfast and the room was dirty. You need to let people know that you no longer serve breakfast. You need to add a wine bar for evenings. I received calls from someone that I didn't know. THey were going through the front desk. The person at the front desk was not very helpful. I will try not to stay there again.

The staff were accommodating, however the hotel is under construction so it smelled like paint.

The access from the parking lot in the back is filthy and there is no cover, thus I got very wet. The card did not work in the back entry either.

Convenient location to downtown and the transit center. Clean room and a great view of the harbor. The bed was a bit soft but that is no big deal.

For us, the location was perfect, right in downtown Olympia, Starbucks kitty corner across the street, lovely little shops on down Capital towards the water, and we could walk to the week end farmer's market...

This is a truly sad old hotel. There has been very little done in the way of regular maintenance. Our bathtub looked like something out of the PBS "This Old House," program, ready for a re do! And absolutely no up grading of anything. Carpets dirty, elevator rattling along...

Mostly the caring helpful staff and delicious buffet breakfast.

Rooms were clean, the cleaning staff great! The waitress staff in dining area great!

Night person at front desk at check in was not friendly. Didn't like the fact the pool was not available for guest only because it was not wheel chair accessable. That's BS! No on site restaurant..

The location was good.

The furmishings were out dated. The pool wasnt open.We were in a suite with a full kitchen, but there werent any dishes, cups, silverware, or anything. The staff warned us many times during checking that we were staying next to a group of younger children. We booked the room more than 6 months ago and specifically told the staff that we were a large bachelorette party. Poor planning on the part of the staff. The lady at the front desk couldn't help find us a cab or recommend any restaurants in the area. All in all, I would not stay there again.
