The setting is reminiscent of Shotley Peninsula near Ipswich. The hotel has a deck to the rear overlooking the river which has many waterbirds. The food was excellent, as was the carvery at the Passage House Inn. Was amazed at how busy the hotel was. Extremely comfortable and friendly.

The staff were excellent, the food well prepared and very quickly brought to the table and the facilities fantastic. The views were absolutely beautifull.

Rooms were light and modern, location convenient to family party we were to attend. Nice location altogether. Price reasonable
Could not get served for breakfast, ignored by staff, although not very busy. Lightbulb we requested to be changed was not. Was told to check out a day earlier by mistake and then key was cancelled so we couldn't get into our room. Hair in bath on both days (not ours)

The area was lovely, shame there was no view from the ground floor of the North Lodge. Rooms were adequate but nothing special - travelodge. No fridge for our wine. thank god there was a hairdryer for Carol though! The Inn was lovely, friendly & food was reasonable. The hotel food was expensive.
Pool was small & no extra towels in the room to take across to the hotel where pool was located 100yds away - said in info book that there would be. Did let hotel reception know.
Spa bath was incorporated into one end of the pool. Uncomfortable square edged seats & cool water, as being the same temp as pool.
