The Shelburne Sonesta New York

Not great really. This hotel really needs refurbishment. It is pretty grotty really and the furniture needs replacement. The location is reasonable in that one can walk to most destinations but Taxi fares back can be expensive.

Hotel in good location - however sharing a one-bedroom suite was not the best situation - the sofa bed matress was in very poor condition - in fact it was upside down (the springs were poking through) and had to be turned over - matress was ripped and a spike from the springs was jutting out. This was mentioned to the hotel - offered to give us a cot but would have been too small for two people. We were also offered a slight discount but on check out no discount given.

A well located place to stay in Manhattan Staff very helpful and obliging

I found the hotel to be clean and very well run, staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only complaint I would have is that when sleeping on the pull out sofa bed, the noise from the fridge in the kitchen kept me awake most nights. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.

Ideal location and spacious rooms

Very good hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Only point was that when booking the Total Cost comes up and after giving the credit card details they say that some taxes are not included. This should be made very clear at the beginning (cost without taxes or words to that effect)

Lovely hotel, very comfortable beds, the air conditioning was quiet and efficient, the room was large, we loved having a fully equipped kitchen. Location was great, staff helpful. The rooftop garden was very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel with a convenient location. Friendly helpful staff and well equipped suite Would certainly stay again if we revisit New York.
