Location to Penn Station. We prefer rail over flying. For that reason we are no strangers to the New Yorker, no matter what hotel chain owns the property.
Absence of a small market/gift shop inside hotel. Years ago there was a small market one level down from lobby. We do realize there are several options within a block or two for snacks, beverages, sundries, etc. Convenience of something inside the hotel was appreciated.

Very convenient location in the city.
Rare (rerez day or two) spread shampoo / soap. in the doorway of a huge slit-penetrating smells, the sounds of koridora.na non-smoker floor, smoke, and all the smell is in the room. a very small number. always long queues at the reception desk.

Fantastic location, adequate accommodation, and terrific to have free Wireless in the rooms. We appreciated the Tick Tock Diner downstairs, open 24 hours a day - of particular help as our arrival flights were delayed and we were searching for food at 2 AM on a very cold night. Two concerns: The sound of the radiators kept us awake for the first two nights as we became accustomed to their irregular clicking; the hotel renovations seemed to occur outside of 'advertised' hours - so we were once woken up very early by what sounds like drills or other power tools. Still, we would certainly stay there again due to the location, overall comfort, and value for money.

We had a problem with our room and the director decided to change our room with an upgrade. The restored rooms are grate, the old ones are decadent but cheep.
