Main reason for choosing Royal Kona Resort: Location
The location and view from the pool and deck were outstanding. We enjoyed the close proximity to the shops and restaurants.
We would much prefer that the price of parking and internet access be included in the overall cost of the room. The $10 per day for parking and/or internet seems a bit much.

Main reason for choosing Royal Kona Resort: Rate
The very first night I arrived very late and decided to stay at the royal Kona due to an unfortunate situation at another hotel. I was greeted very warmly and felt that the front desk receptionist was going to help out the best she could. And she did! (Her name was Wanda, I believe) I was very tired and I had my very tired 2 year old with me. Wanda made the frustrating situation turn to a very pleasant experience.
I had a very difficult time logging onto the wifi service. when I was finally able to log on, I kept getting logged off and needed to re-log back on. More times then I can remember. The room supervisor was very kind to follow up with me and had oceanic cable talk me through some steps. It helped but only temporarily. In the end they did waive my wifi fee.

Main reason for choosing Royal Kona Resort: Location
We liked the location as we like to walk into town for coffee and meals, rather than eating all meals at the hotel (just for the variety, we did enjoy the food at the hotel). Music was good, staff interactions were postive. Our view was amazing!
It is not that we didn't like this but.... Our room (175) was big enough to accomodate a small sofa. Also a small table on the patio would have been a nice addition. Having to ask for pool towels at the busy front desk was a bit of an incovenience at times.

The only thing the hotel has going for it is the public space and location.
An incident occurred during the night in my room and I was dissatisfied with the way it was handled upon my check out.

Location
I was under the air conditioning on the 7 floor and it was very noisy, I requested a king or queen bet and got 2 full instead, the personel was not very friendly and the waiter at the restaurant was non existant i had to wait forever to give my order and I had to walk to the bar to payed my bill because he never came back. I woiuld definitely not recommend your hotel

Pleasant,well located,comfortable resort with excellent eating areas and ocean views
The noise from loud neighbours on the balcony next door was a little difficult

The music from the night club. Need to sound proof the room. Made no difference if the door was open or closed.
In other hotels, when the door is closed you can't hear anything outside.
