Baranof Downtown, BW Signature Collection

Very nice and helpful staff

I may not book again at the Baranof Hotel due to the fact the room was too hot. There was no clear way to cool the room off even with the window fully opened and the fan running. For the price I will look for a climate controlled room.

Staff is very friendly and helpful.

It's something you can't fix but the walls are really thin and you can hear the people in the neighboring rooms even though they are talking in normal voices. Also, the toilet flushing is really loud.

Site in downtown, lovely entry, bar and dining room, overall solid presence of the building -- and the sense of history about it. Rooms in that age hotel are, of course, small, but it was clean, staff kept it tidy, and while noisy in the elevator area, it was perfectly comfortable. Lovely to retreat to in rainy weather, and close to everything we needed and wanted. Son lives there on a boat in the harbor, and daughter lived in another boat while there through the summer working for a coffee company and the tee shirt store. Each of them made great friends, and the consignment shop near the airport is the best I've seen in major cities and small communities. Especially liked the antique shop in The Wharf building. Clean comfortable room. Great location.

The front desk was not friendly. Nothing to note, just an I don't care attitude.

Location was great. The Gold Room restaurant was fantastic with great service.
