Baymont by Wyndham Hickory

I didn't like arriving and not being able to enter the lobby. I din't feel safe, having to register outside through a small window.

Iwas very clean and a very good breakfast.

It would have been good to be on the first floor and not had to climb steps.

Easy to find. Good location.

Probably the worst hotel experience in my life. The room was so overly perfumed with some type carpet odor cover up product I could not breath. I requested another room - they were fully booked. I tried to air the room for over an hour with the door opened gaining no improvement. The odor was so strong I could actually taste it in the back of my throat. I was traveling with my dog. He could not stop sneezing and would not settle. He slept in my vehicle. I could not sleep at all. I left 4 hours earlier than I had planned with no sleep. I would have demanded my money back but truly did not have the mental energy for a confrontation.

The staff was polite.

It was filthy. Walls and floors had stains and spills. Bathroom had hairs on tub. We could smell smoke from nearby rooms smoking cigarettes. Bedding was old, dirty and dingy. We didn't even feel comfortable showering there. Couldn't checkout fast enough. It was very expensive for what a nasty place it was. The only reason we stayed was because we had small children that needed to sleep and it was late evening wben we checked in.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was fairly well maintained.

The breakfast was not very good, limited selections, and not very tasty. The bathroom door in Room 305 was cracked and sometimes came completely off. The bedspread on the bed nearest the door had a hole worn in it.
