Maverick Hotel and Casino by Red Lion Hotels

It was clean and well appointed. Didn't really see any staff except for the front desk! Quiet and convenient! Loved the Starbucks and the food was okay.

Had a little trouble with the opening of the room door. After call to desk, they told me what to do.

It was fine after a 10 hr drive,don't remember hitting the pillow when I went to bed.

I don't know what you guys did with the beds, but I can sleep on almost anything, I.E. love to camp, ( the ground) But when I woke up, my back was killing--killing me.I had to walk around for 5 minutes before I could bend over to brush my teeth, and to had to sit on the edge of the bed for 5 minutes before I could get up. When we left I used the heated seat in my car on high to relax my back. I thought you guys had pillow tops, well someone replaced my with a rocktop.

The dining experience was ridiculous. The evening dinner order was totally wrong from what we said we wanted to what was brought to the table. The problem was one waiter took the order (incorrectly) and the food was brought by another waitress who had no clue. Also, if I wanted desert I could only order from the buffet. We were not eating a buffet dinner! The price was not the problem but I would have to get up and check what was available at the buffet. All I wanted was a slice of pie which was not available. Also, our room was too far from the casino/dining area. Sorry Red Lion but I will choose not to book with you if I have any options!!!!

The rooms were very comfortable and very quiet, and the food was very good, all in all very nice place to stay. We'll be back Aug 11th on our way home. Thanks such, Fred Gunning

The location was close to our family wedding venue.

The check-in time was 4:00pm. We were told since this was for a wedding we could check in early, but were turned away on arrival at 11 am. We got ready in family rooms who checked in the day before, and went to wedding at 3pm. We returned to check-in at 7pm. Jamie at the front desk informed me I reserved 2 smoking rooms even though my confirmation from hotel one was for 2 non smoking rooms. She then informed me when reserving rooms through hotel one or any other 3rd party "you get the bottom of the barrel". She further informed me that she was sold out except 2 non-smoking king size rooms. We had reserved 2 queens in each room as we had 5 people. We did end up taking those rooms and squeezed 3 people in 1 bed. They did give me the option of getting extra blankets from house keeping, so 1 person could sleep on the floor. I thought that was very thoughtful of them that 1 member of my family could sleep on their floor and I could still have the honor of paying full rate. They did comp us to breakfast the next morning, which was a true experience. We ordered our food which came out in shifts if at all. Banana pancakes came with just 2 plain pancakes (one was burnt) and the bananas came out later. One order of toast didn't come out until we were done and it was cold. I had to go in search of jelly. A side order of 2 eggs came out 1/2 way through the meal. I found the employees to be cold and rude. I am from Las Vegas and our hotels know how to take care of their guests.

A response given by the front desk. There waere two dogs that had been barking for over 3 hours and I was concerned about the animals, and my husband was trying to sleep and couldn't because of the dogs. He called the front desk to let them know that these dogs had been barking for over 3 hours. The response of the front desk was that this was a pet friendly place. So this probably isn't a good place for us to stay; we need a people friendly place rather then a animal friendly place. I have animals and love them, but I would have never leave my animals alone in a motel room. Other than that everything was fine.

I was pleased with how nice the rooms were and how comfortable the beds were

For the price, I expected at least a breakfast buffet like other motels have.

Nice room - spacious, 2 sinks, relatively quiet, upscalish decor. Did NOT smell of smoke. Price reasonable and of course direct access to the casino.

Smell of smoke in the casino (and therefore the registration area) is overpowering. Not sure that is fixable.

We had booked a room for 2 adults and 3 kids. But only 2 beds and a roll-away was not a possibility. Seems like the booking should not have been possible if you would not want someone sleeping on the floor
