It has been nicely restored as a historic building of Dubuque.
Shortly after we checked in, none of the elevators were working. Sometime later they had one operating. We felt the staff did not know how to handle the situation. Several men suggested that they get the manager. Their reply was that he/she was in a meeting and they could not interrupt.

We had no kleenex or toilet paper in our room. I called room service and they said someone would be right up with some. After waiting for over an hour, my husband went outside in the hall and took some toilet paper off the maid's cart. We never did get the kleenex.

Very close to river museum and the mississippi river great local restaurants and Star winery all within walking distances Bed was extremely comfortable .The hotel restaurant " Caroline " had great breakfasts!
The band noise from the Bar "RiverBoat lounge" we were on the 3rd floor and the noise kept us up most of the night 10 pm to around 1 am. We paid $ 227 for a night of no sleep???? Would not recommend staying at this hotel Friday or Saturday nights unless maybe on the 7 th or 8 th floor with earplugs.

The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
The lamp between the beds didn't work. We did not have a spare roll of toilet tissue in the room.

The location of the hotel is excellent for downtown.
Parking is an issue. There was a function in one of the hotels rental rooms so there was no parking for the guests when we arrived. The hotel offered to pay for parking in a nearby city deck.
