The Devon Valley Hotel

A beautiful modern hotel in fantastic surroundings.

A very good hotel in a beautiful location. Spoilt by the fact that the hotel has built an new accomodation block which has been opened for use before all the work has been finished. Car parking was not good and was on an unfinished hillside behind the hotel. In a few months these problems will likely have been sorted out.

This hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Stellenbosch area, close to town and restaurants (even though a great restaurant on the premises does innovative dishes for a large variety of palates), but secluded enough to give one the feeling of being away from it all! Over the past few years I have stayed at this venue on business and leisure breaks. In all cases the service was of a very high standard. This hotel is within walking distance of one of the largest sparkling wine cellars in the Cape and several excellent wine farms are within minutes drive. One never has to go on busy roads to have a great day or two of varied entertainment. Lastly, the hotel has a bar facility with a fantastic range of whisky and local wines. In winter there are often several wood fires burning and in summer it is open to the cooling breezes from False Bay. It remains a favourite with my wife and we never visit the Cape without spending at least one night there.
