The grounds of the hotel are lovely - lots of brightly colored tiles, fountains, plants etc. The breakfast room is at the top of the complex and so you can look out over San Diego whilst eating. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice of hot and cold food. The location of the hotel is perfect for Old Town and is easily accessed from I5 and I8.
The grounds are lovely but our room was not up to the same high standard. It was clean and the bed was comfortable but the shutter on the door didn't close properly and so we were woken early by the light. Also there was only one socket by the bed so the choice was either use the light or the clock / radio alarm. You couldn't have both! All staff we encountered were friendly and polite apart from the chap who checked us in - he was rather abrupt and not particularly helpful.

The view from the rooms and the pool are spectacular. Also, it is centrally located so a walk around town is easy to access. Love the design of the hotel - so comfortable and inviting. Definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic evening or fun time with the kids.

I enjoyed and liked everything about the hotel. The location, The staff and the fresh coffee in the morning. If my wife and I ever decide to come through San Diego again theres no doubt that " Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town" will be the first hotel I will call for Reservation.
