The Lawn Guest House

I was just overnighting to catch a connecting flight, I liked the pick and the distance from the airport(gatwick) and the nearby shopping a 5 min walk gets you most anything you need.

Although they offered Airport pick up and drop off. The drop off advertised was to late, however the person that did the pick up did return the following morning to drop me off but I believe it was done in a personal capacity

Rest in the room despite near the shipyard and the church.

I has gotten no room for my hotel bill from the mission statement for my company because I have posted on your agency. The bill I get from you I was told. Is that so??

Friendly, cheerful place. Good Breakfasts and service.

There should be free access to the Internet, also in the rooms. Not only a half hour at a time in the lobby. It's the only thing that pulls down with you.

I had a problem with cleanliness. Dirty towels.

I was enormously impressed with the Lawn Guest House. I am a very seasoned world wide traveller. Currently I live in Geneva. In future I shall always use this Guest House when flying to and from Gatwick, which is very frequent. I have only one "complaint", and it is a minor one. There is no door to the shower / wash basin / lavatory area, it is entered by an archway, there is a door to the lavatory itself but the problem is the electric light. There is only one electric switch to both the light in the lavatory and the shower / wash basin area. i.e. both lights are on simultaneously. This is a nuisance in the middle of the night for one's partner, the only alternative is to use the lavatory in the dark! The breakfast was one of the best I have had at any hotel. A splendid guest house and excellent value for money with very considerate owners. Paul Cotton.

We used the Lawn Guest House as our last night's stay in England. We had been on a walking tour of the Cotswold and had experienced some pretty nice B&B's. Although this B&B was on a par, the price was a little high. The amenities were fine, breakfast was good, the people nice.

If I had one complaint, it would have been the bed, Room 6. It was just a mattress on wooden slates (no box spring) and it was pretty lumpy for sleeping. If we had to stay longer, I would have asked for a different room.

Only suitable for one night, as no available wardrobe.

The staff were extremely helpful and warm.

Very tired furnishings. In need of an update.
