St Thomas’s beaches are one of its biggest draws – some of the most exquisite are Bolongo Bay, Lindquist Beach, Morning Star Beach and Sapphire Beach. The most popular is Magens Bay, a public park in a heart-shaped sheltered bay with ideal swimming conditions and lifeguards on duty every day.

Those seeking an adrenaline rush especially enjoy the Skyride, a mobile tram lifting passengers 700 feet above the city to Paradise Point. From here the view of the Caribbean is unbeatable and particularly stunning at sunset.

Golfers come to St Thomas to test their skills at Mahogany Run, with challenging holes and fairways set among beautiful valleys and picturesque hills. Here they can try to defeat the Devil’s Triangle – a trio of holes considered so difficult that if a player makes it through them without a penalty shot he or she wins a prize at the pro shop.

Nightlife

Despite having a small population of just over 50,000 people, St Thomas has a thriving party scene. The area of Charlotte Amalie is full of waterfront pubs, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of each other.

Another option is Red Hook, where there is a large number of food and drink venues. Vibrant live music is always easy to find around here, and there are plenty of clubs to suit all tastes. Frenchtown is also alive with revelers and merrymakers; it is particularly popular with tourists as there are many resorts located in this part of town.
