Stoney Creek Hotel St. Joseph

It was an upscale hotel, with a reasonable price.

The firm mattress took some getting used to.

Our room was spacious and the hotel was attractive and clean.

Could not get the hot tub jets to work even though the instructions laying on the edge of the tub were followed. I informed the clerk at checkout of this and she said that I had to push a light switch on the wall to get it to work. I looked for such a switch and did not find one, and it surely was not on the instructions. The internet connection at the hotel did not work. We were able to connect a couple of times but it did not last but a minute or two. Clerk was not very friendly or helpful. I think we will look for another hotel in the future when staying in that area.

I liked the decor and comfortable feeling.

I was not happy with the quality of mattresses. I also did not like to hear the neighboring room doors slamming late at night and early in the morning.

Decorations were outdooresy.

The free breakfast was okay at best. The coffee was very weak. I had to walk next store to the coffee shop every morning to get a proer cup of coffee.

We stayed at the St. Joseph, Missouri Stoney Creek Inn several years ago when traveling north. We loved the Inn at that time, the cleanliness, the helpful, friendly staff, the breakfast that was filling but not too much. The location is great as well. Even as an adult, I was tickled pink when walking into our room to find a beautiful little black bear cub lying on the corner of the bed staring at me, wearing his Stoney Creek scarf. My husband said "go for it", so I took Stoney - the name I gave my bear, downstairs and told the clerk "add him to our bill". He spends every Christmas lying on the hearth in our family room. Our stay at this Inn during August 2013 was just as delightful. This time our older granddaughter was with us. She loved her room so much, that she took photos that night and shared them with her fiancé, friends and other family members. She also shared photos of her new stuffed friend 'Tom Tom' the black bear cub. We all love the atmosphere and the décor because it reminds us of the beautiful mountains and wildlife we so enjoy each summer when traveling. Stoney Creek Inn is a lovely, quiet and relaxing place to stay. Don't change. We love it as it is. And by the way, Robert was terrific, a very nice young man and so helpful. Don't let him go.

Absolutely nothing!

Good location. Great venue for children.

Clean and comfortable. Great staff. Good breakfast selection and the person in charge was friendly and helpful. I thought the price was in line with other hotels.

The Lodge was very comfortable. We loved the huge bed and the great coffee, provided in the room. The boys adored the swimming pool! Thank you for naming me the best Grandma around!!!

I wished there had been a hook or hangar available on the bathroom door for towels, clothes or my makeup bag.
