Kimpton Alton Hotel - Fisherman's Wharf, an IHG Hotel

The front desk staff was friendly and accomodating.

Housekeeping was horrible. I have never stayed at a hotel where housekeeping did not clean. I came into my room at the end of each day and the wet towels were left in the room, the garbages were not emptied and the aside from the beds being made, the room was not cleaned.

One visit the concierge was good and helpful The pillow selection was great, and the towels were very good. The matress was good. The location was prime , tourist central. Breakfast was pricy, but predictable and good.

Two other visits to the concierge were unhelpful, aloof and dismissive, complete with eye rolling, and throwing up of hands. The internet was slow even when the connection was 54Mbps, although it occasionaly dropped to 1Mbps on the wifi connection. Actual measured throughput was often less than 400 Kbps. When i am VPN'ing to our enterprise system, just credentialing takes several minutes, time sheets and email even slower, and i didnt even try FTP. The parking at $40 + tax was above the going rate in the area, the lots charge about $32 / night. i stayed with the hotel parking for the convienence as I was working night shifts with heavy tool bags.

The staff on the phone were not too friendly.

The only thing i didnt like about this hotel is the parking fee $ 40.00 a day is very expensive when you pay for the hotel the should provide parking .next time i go to san francisco im going to find a hotel with free parking
