The location on campus was a major factor in our selection. Rooms are very comfortable. Restaurant staff were superb and friendly. Welcome chocolate chip cookies did not go unnoticed.

Our family loved every part of our experience at the Carolina Inn. The room and beds were very comfortable. The decor of the hotel was beautiful. The Friday Nights on the porch event was also so much fun. Our family looks forward to returning as often as possible, while our daughter attends and plays for UNC!!

Staff. Architecture. Dinner. Comfortable bed.
Sunday morning breakfast buffet was a major disappointment--even one star motels do better than that. Bread was stale, probably Sara Lee defrosted, potatoes were obviously prepackaged defrosted. All the other 4-star hotels I've visited always have very nice breakfast buffets. I have to believe this was not a one day anomaly, but the result of corporate policy not to ask the otherwise fine kitchen to prepare any thing edible in the morning. I am sure the kitchen could do better if asked--I had a very fine dinner Saturday night, including a very nice French wine at a decent price.

I like the ambiance and the food.
I found it very awkward not to have a night table beside my bed. There was a large comfortable chair in that spot but that does not hold my morning cup of coffee while I am in bed slowly waking up. The furniture in the room was too large and created a very crowded room. I would not return based on the room not being as comfortable as it good have been.

The Carolina Inn was beautiful and my daughter and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel was beautifully decorated, charming, and was in a great location next to the campus of UNC.

Beautiful Room , clean, nicely decorated.
Just had a rainy night so felt it was a little too much for one night. Think if we had been able to go out and walk on Franklin St. It was an absolutely beautiful place though.
