Very comfortable room, with all the things we needed. It is the perfect location for us (next to GU). Very friendly staff especially at the restaurant. My wife always chooses the Red Lion when attending conferences in Yakima, Wenatchee or Spokane and I go along with her.
Would love to have a screen on window, would be nice to open it without having to worry about mosquitos(proximity to river)coming into room.

We were able to walk to the McCarthy Athletic Center to see a basketball game.
We were put in a handicap room and were not happy with the placement.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 days when there was terrible winter weather and found the restaraunt to be a convenient way to dine without having to take my car out in the snow. The food was very well prepared.
The restaurant was shut down unexpectedly for the final 3 days of my stay. This caused me a lot of inconvenience as I had not planned extra time to drive to a restaraunt in the morning, so I ended up having to skip the meal. The staff, although pleasant, were incredibly slow to seat me every time I arrived (I ate there twice per day initially) and slow to bring drinks, take orders, bring the bill or take payment. The time from when the food was actually ordered and brought out was acceptable, so it appeared that the kitechen was not the source of the slow service.

We have stayed at the Red Lion River Inn even when it was Inn on the River and have always been very happy. It is pet friendly, near everything, lots of parking and the staff is excellent.
We stayed in a very new renovated room and found the easy chair not comfy and wonder why there are not 2 easy chairs? As well, a computer plug in center for recharging I phones, I-pads would be something to maybe think about.
