We love the atmosphere and the charm of the surroundings. It was a lovely to sit in the evening by the pool and relax. This is our 4th stay in this hotel and each time we enjoy it very much. the landscaping is beautiful and in the middle of a drought there are flowers all around. Lovely to look at and enjoy..e
The room could us a ceiling fan.

We Truly had a good visit. I had stayed tha the El Ray many years ago when it was new and it was the "in place" Years later I wanted to come back and we found it to be a great experience. I will be returning again.
The ONLY rpoblem we encountered was that on the Saturday we were there, all of the ice machines were empty and they remained so for several hours. Other than that, we had no problems.

The atmosphere is great and services were super.
We were in room 3. I am a fairly large man. The commode and sink are so close together it is very hard to use the commode. Who ever designed this arrangement did a very poor job. For me it was very uncomfortable.

The grounds were lovely.
The room was basically a bed. The towels were cheap and old. The staff was snobby, save for the woman who gave us a tortilla at breakfast with a smile.

The El Ray is a unique property, a work of art in itself. Every space is interesting, and grounds are designed to provide constant delights and surprising moments of beauty. I have stayed there many times, and it is one of my favorite places anywhere.

We love the character of the El Rey. Quiet, comfortable, authentic, historic, clean, friendly and real plates, cups, utensils for breakfast (not disposable.)
The heater in the room is too loud.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The trees around the parking area need to be trimmed so cars can park there.

The breakfast was in a delightful sunny room. The decor was regional and tasteful. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The heating system was very noisy and gusty.
