Stoney Creek Hotel Quad Cities - Moline

The front desk help with checking in and out process was terrific.

We planned to eat at the hotel because the weather was bad and we didn't feel like traveling in the storm with our 9 and 7 year old. We found the literature in the room and online that we could eat downstairs. The "guard" and front desk person directed us to the "restaurant". After sitting at a table for about 10 min, the lady came out and informed us that it was A BAR and kids were not allowed. She didn't give any other suggestions, just kicked us out. That was our first 25 min of being in the hotel. So we bundled up and left to go out to eat and when we returned, we decided to try the pool. The amount of children that were running, shoving, jumping in the pool was too much for us. We let our children play rough but that was insane! You almost need a lifeguard on duty to calm some of the non-sense down so that visit to the pool lasted about 30 min for us. So we went to back to our room for the night and my husband slept in the chair because the bed was uncomfortable. My son said that the pillows stunk so he was up coughing all night. My wedding band ended up missing in the morning so that set us back getting down for breakfast. Finally I gave up looking for it, reported it missing at the front desk and to housekeeping and we went for breakfast so that we at least could hopefully enjoy that. The doors were closed and locked to the buffet 20 min early so then we missed breakfast too. At that point, I was furious so we just left. And I still haven't received a call that they found my ring. So needless to say, it was a night from hell and I will never stay there again.

Bed was extremely comfortable and pillows were just like home. Staff was helpful and courteous.

I didn't have my family with me to enjoy the pool. :(

I like that there were not extra charges (e.g., free WiFi) and the stuff animal they leave on the bed to buy for the kids -- saves me a trip to the gift store.

There were no premium channels (e.g., HBO). While HBO was listed on the TV listings, there was no HBO.

I like that the Stoney Brook has a warm and cozy atmosphere. It's different.
