For deluxe room, I was astonished that you had to pay extra for ice and water......they do not seem to realize that they are no longer the great hotel in town; all in all, a great disappointment

The hotel is charming and relives its close association to the faculty and students of UNC in every room. Its public areas and rooms have been wonderfully renovated.
My only suggestion relates to the entry door of the hotel. It would be nice if the staff responsible for the parking and luggage could help open the door when clients arrive with their luggage. The entry door has not automatic opener and is heavy and narrow. It was odd for me to be hassling with a door when two staff stood idle 7 feet away.

Everything especially sitting on the porch watching all the activity around Chapel Hill.
Small room so difficult for two people to move around. Lack of chair for watching TV

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and the staff was fantastic. Location to the UNC Chapel Hill Hospital and College campus was perfect for what we needed. Loved the dining and decor and the beds were so comfortable. The tile and bathrooms were very clean. Cookies at check in were a nice surprise. The grounds were well kept and parking was easy too.
Room seemed small due to large bed frames (we had two queen bed room). Beautifully decorated though. Price was fine except the last night the price more than doubled due to a football game that weekend so we had to go find another hotel to stay the last night because we did not want to spend $345 for one night.
