We have been staying at the Sandman on Davie for approx. 10 years. We love it. However, the rooms are beginning to look, and feel, dated. It may be time to spruce them up.

The room was nice and beautiful view of the ocean. It was also close to a lot of different restaurants.
The washer/dryer machine was a pain in the ass. The door wouldn't unlock so I ended up washing/ drying a set of clothes about 4 times, then the door finally decided to open.

Sandman faves....
1-There is simply no better location in the Gay Village, this is it's heart!
2-If you don't like heated, outdoor pools, the ocean is only a couple of blocks away.
3-If the cost seems steep, just sock up your fridge and make meals in your suite - silverware, pots and everything else you need is there!
It is a coin flip with the elevators. They are either going to be hellacious or user-friendly, but never consistent!
I would recommend with a solid 3-star rating (not the 4-stars advertised).
Had fun, but the $250-300 per night price tag (if you include parking and exchange rates)might give serious pause for a return.

The suites are very comfortable, very clean and cosy. The king size bed was nice and firm which is important to us. Staff were very helpful and if we ever went back to Vancouver we would stay there again.
