SpringHill Suites by Marriott Old Montreal

Very attentive staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Very quick check-in.

Hot tub no longer exists although featured on amenities. Parking should be less costly or included.

Close to Old Montreal restaurants and the port.

The SpringHill Suites Old Montreal was perfect for our group of three on a long weekend visit to Montreal. Our double bed room had a couch with a pullout double bed that was actually as comfortable as the regular beds in the room. The entire hotel was remodeled earlier this year and the decor was lovely. Bathroom was spacious. All of the staff we encountered were notably friendly and helpful. The best part of this hotel, though, is its location in beautiful Old Montreal, just a few minutes walk from the Basilica of Notre Dame, shops, dining, and Old Port. We were originally looking at other hotels in Old Town that were much pricier but were booked for our weekend; if we were to return to Montreal, I wouldn't hesitate to look here first for rooms!

Only two minor downsides I can think of. The double room is very tight if you need a third bed and pull out the couch sofa bed (it basically runs head to head with one of the regular beds across, making walking across the room difficult), but we just folded it back up during the day and waited to pull it out until we were ready to go to sleep. Also, our window looked out pretty closely at a classroom across the street. We were out exploring the city all day so this wasn't an issue for us, but we did keep the sheer curtain closed for some privacy when in the room.

The breakfast was sub-par - I stay at a lot of Marriott hotels around the US and this one has the worst breakfast - oatmeal was inedible and eggs were terrible.

We like the location.

We found the bed was too fast, we both had sore backs for a couple of days afterward.
