My husband and I were visiting Montreal on vacation. Our stay at the Auberge de La Fontaine was a particularly nice part of our vacation. The concierges were extremely helpful to us about local restaurants, transportation, and getting us museum tickets at a discount. Our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast included had lots to choose from. We also enjoyed the charming neighborhood the hotel is located. It was an enjoyable walk to many of Montreal's main attractions from the hotel.

Two kinds of omelets, toast or muffins or pastry, cheese and fruit -- wow! But get downstairs early -- before nine if you want choices. And at that time the breakfast room can get a bit crowded. Cookies and fruit, ccffee and tea and fruit available from the open kitchen at all hours.
The rooms are cozy, the beds comfortable, the facilities modern.
Easy to get everywhere. Two blocks away is Mont Royal with plenty of shops are good restaurants, and the best poutine place is right across the street (long lines). Huge Parc LaFontaine is across the street also.
Only problems: no elevator and steep staircases. And parking for only three cars. This can be a real hassle as parking on nearby streets is very limited and rules are eccentric. But the bus stops are nearby, the metro is ten minutes walk away, and bike paths pass right out front.
