While staying at Embassy Suites we also attended a concert across the bridge. Your hotel was gracious enough to give my husband and I a shuttle ride over, we were informed that a driver would also pick us up promptly after the show, to call the hotel and let them know we're ready and to be at the meeting spot. After the concert, about 40 of us congregated in the freezing rain and waited... and waited. Finally after a half hour our van turned up, 1 van for 40 people. Obviously, 15 people let with promises of two vans would be back in 10 min. After another half hour in the freezing rain 1 more van came... We were absolutely froze by this point that the rest of us dog pilled into the van. Not only is this unsafe but also a huge legal issue. I don't wish to cause any fuss about the situation, I still had a very lovely time staying at the hotel, my only hopes are that this will be read and be taken as constructive criticism.
So in conclusion, please train your staff to keep accurate numbers of guests taking the shuttle. I feel this could have been avoided with a shuttle log. Or to simply of informed us of the high volume of guests using the shuttle that evening, I certainly would have pre arranged a taxi. Unfortunately, due to the impromptu debacle, I couldn't get a taxi for over an hour and was left with no choice but to huddle with my husband and the other concert going guests.
