The staff and the hotel were great. Nice breakfast included.

The history of the Blackhawk hotel, the period furnishings and accessories throughout the hallways, lobby, breakfast room and entrance. Rooms modern with all amenities and comfort. Location midtown to quaint Cedar Falls college town. Ease of private parking in gated area. The friendly staff and friendly other travelers. Beautifully presented continental breakfast.

We absolutely ADORE the Blackhawk Hotel. Absolutely we will stay there every time we visit Cedar Falls. We stay in the Contemporary Section as we travel with our show dogs. I loved the leather chair in our room so much I found it on the internet and bought it. The room decor is fun and appropriate. After we checked in and pulled up into our parking spot outside our room (and I so dearly wish I knew her name) the housekeeper said "Welcome Back you two" and remembered us (and our dogs), from a prior stay at the hotel. The hotel itself is conveniently located to downtown Cedar Falls which houses a wide variety of places to shop and dine. We had dinner at the Montage and it was excellent. I could not possibly give this hotel a higher recommendation. It is clean. It is a good value for your dollar. The Staff is welcoming (and loving). It's "fun". Make this your next special ocassion - you won't be disappointed.
