Well, when we first got there they did not have the double queen room I had booked. They worked hard to find us another option and ended up giving us the suite. Also the staff in the restaurant, the food, the cost, and the plate size were excellent. Walking distance to the whale statue and downtown.
Yes. We did not get our room cleaned for the first couple of days, but after that they always cleaned.

We like hotels that have a kind of mom-and-pop feel to them, with attention to maintenance and updating the property as needed. The Prospector was such a hotel. Also, the dinner that we had in the dining room was delicious, not fancy but very tasty. Looked like a lot of local people were eating there, too.

The staff was friendly, except for the woman who worked on Sunday morning. The food was good. Rooms large. Wasn't as convenient as the Baranof, but the walk to the main street was short.
