Hall House Hotel

It was a charming older hotel connected to a restaurant and an upstairs bar overlooking the the historic square in Dahlonega. There is also an art gallery downstairs. The owner, Mike, was very accommodating and pointed out the features in the room to us. We liked the high ceilings and felt that we had stepped back in time. Even the few squeaks here and there in the wood floors gave it a back-in-time ambiance. We felt that the owners took their customers into consideration as if they were living in it themselves. They put cold water bottles in the little fridge for our enjoyment. Several restaurants are within walking distance. Also, a cafe across the street is great for coffee and breakfast. The gold mine museum is in the center of the square. We took the time to walk around the little historic town and take in all that Dahlonega has to offer.

The king bed in our particular room was on a platform. It makes for a stiffer bed but some really prefer that to a soft one. Overall, we really liked our room and would stay here again.

Easy-going and friendly owner/operator. It is a collection of rooms next to a restaurant, so it's not going to compete with a full-service hotel, that's why an 8 on that mark. But it's an ideal getaway for a couple in the heart of one of Georgia's nicest N. Ga. locations.

Quaint lodging. Kind of like visiting my grandma's house. Comfortable, clean, great location! Only negative was the two flights of stairs to get to the room.
