Location, location, location!! Yoga on the lawn was a great option.
As we entered the elevators we found them quite dirty. Led us to believe our accommodations may not be clean. We were pleased thet the room was clean & bed nicely made & comfortable. First impressions count alot and an elevator is a small space to clean.

Love the breakfast and that it is a very short walk to the beach. We love this place and visit every year.
Well, I hate to complain but the bathroom was a bit disappointing. There was a rain shower fixture and a hand-held fixture in the shower and we could not figure a way to turn on only one. To turn on the shower you had to stand under the rain fixture and get drenched by cold water from two directions.

We have stayed at the Blockade Runner many times and are thrilled to see the renovations have been completed. The colors are bright and fresh and the bedrooms and bedding, comfortable and clean. The location is on the best part of the Wightsville oceanfront and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
The only drawback was we arrived one week before the cabana bar/cafe opened for the season. Therefore, we had to get in the car and hunt for lunch. Wish they had a lunch option at the hotel during off season.

The views were awesome not to mention the expansive breakfast buffet. Check in and check out procedures were prompt, organized, and easy.
The first night of my staff, my room was terribly hot. I called the front desk for help, they sent up a person to see if another room was an option but that room was hot as well. To their credit, something happened during the day on Monday and my room was very comfortable the next day.
