It was convenient.
This hotel is sadly in need of an up-date. It is worn, very worn. The mattress and pillows are sad -- hard, lumpy. Yes worn. We stayed on a very cold night, a challenge for the heating system. It lost. As one walked the halls, you could see the gaps around the doors to the rooms and at the end of the hall, you could literally see cracks to the outside. Credit does go the staff that keeps the rooms as clean as possible. The drain in the bath tub would not open. I had to pry it out to let the water out as I showered. Did I mention that this place is very worn?

Free Breakfast.
It is really old. You can hear the floors creek when you walk. You can smell old. The shower was barely big enough for one person. It was damp and drafty.

Free brunch.
Not much to like. The room was extremely noisy due to the HAVC equipment on top of the lower roof of the ballroom/kitchen, and the windows don't even have double pane glass. Also the guests attending the wedding were very noisy in returning to their rooms at 2 and 3 AM. The staff was rude and useless, except for Christine, who finally let us change the room at 4 AM.

The breakfast was fantastic!
Our room was gross. Carpeting in the hallway was disgusting, shower was not dry -- water all over the door, really yucky.

Location was perfect for my stay
Being charged for parking is ridiculous. The room rate is somewhat misleading in that parking is an automatic addition.

The location was the hotels most appealing factor. The hotel itself is quite tired. Needs a significant upgrade.
Refusal of night desk help in finding comfortable pillows and in refunding money from coke machine that did not work.
No cups in the bathroom.
Noise level in Hat Tavern is unpleasant at breakfast. No bananas available for two breakfasts.

No--just a fine accomodation with capable front desk staff.

Grand Summit has become a home away from home, the shuttle service to our New Providence office, and great train service into Manhatten make it a very cost effective option to stay particularly when you factor in complimentary wireless internet and breakfast
