Proximity to the Capitol.

Not being able to get a receipt from the hotel for room and taxes.

The location was close to the Lincoln Museum and Library. The fitness room was very good. It even supplied earphones for the elliptical equipment. We also enjoyed the pool. The restaurant was nice and the food was good.

The blower on the heating unit was very noisey. It made so much noise that it woke me up. I turned the heat off so that I could sleep and doubled up the blankets. The hotel made a $25 temporary charge to make sure that there was money in the credit card account. In theory, this charge will be removed in a few days. I did indicate to the accounting person that the heating unit needs to be checked and he indicated that he would pass the information along.

We enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to the things we wanted to see. The breakfast buffet was good!

The location of our room was quite noisy at times as it was right by the elevator.

Ease of access and cleanliness

Elevators either full or slow.

My 23rd floor view toward the east enabled a spectacular early sunrise photo. The quick elevator to the upper floors was considerate.

Staff was very responsive to reuests to fix things.

When I arrived there was a panhandler at the front door stopping people and asking for money. The staff did nothing about this. When I got to my room, two lights did not work and the toilet has a large crack in it. The furnishings are old and dated. This is a relatively expensive hotel and I expected the room to reflect that. Also there is a huge staircase in the middle of the "lobby" making it not really a lobby-the only thing you see is this stair car. You don't even see the check in area until you walk around the staircase. I had to navigate around the staircase to get to the desk the elevators, the restaurant. It just is too big of a presence in this hotel. It overwhelms the whole first floor. The entrance to the hotel from the parking garage is not key controlled and neither are the elevators-and the garage is not just for Hilton guests-anyone that is in this area can park there-making this a real security risk. I did not feel safe my whole stay at the hotel.
