The first night of staying, when the moment my friend and I stepped into the room, the first impression, Oh my god! How can this considered a 5 stars hotel? Everything in that room are old. The carpet, the desk and especially the TV set, still using the old type TV maybe 24" which my home used before more than 10 over year ago, not even a flat screen!! Friendly speaking, the feeling just like those 2-3 stars hotel I used to stay in when Im in oversea. Althought the facilities are quite complete, but first impression last. As for the second room we stayed in is mavellous. Good in everythings, can't complaint much about that. That is considered really up to the standard. If I have to say something, maybe the hotel can do something about TV programs. Too limited. Especially my friend is a chinese. Not much choices for her.

I have stayed in many SE Asian hotels and used their Executive floors and was a little disappointed at the mixed service levels at The Stamford, given the cost and the current economic climate when business is not easy to find. I'm not sure that housekeeping knew that we were 2 in the room for the first couple of days, sweeteners were not replaced at the coffee machine and my wife was convinced that the room was either not vacuumed each day or was done badly. At check-in I was told that British Airways was not an airline partner but on returning home I find the website says that it is. I requested a late check-out at 6pm (our flight was at midnight) and was told we could have till 4pm and then pay for half a day. I think this is very poor service given what we were paying per night for Executive Club rooms. However, the staff and service in the Club Lounge was first class.
