I love staying here. It's close to everything I want to do. Short walking distance to the temple, conference center and great shopping; including, not only a beautiful mall but also fun local shops. Room service is offered through the adjacent restaurant. It's good food at a reasonable price, especially for room service. The rooms don't have much in the way of freebies, just average soap and lotion. But it does have comfy beds and a nice gift shop.

Hotel was clean, well-maintained and appeared to be well-operated. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Slight issue with the shower. The faucet was not intuitive. You had to pull very hard to start the water running. I had to call the front desk to find out how to turn it on. And then, once in the shower, the pressure varied and the pipes made loud noises when guests in other rooms turned on the water.

The close proximity to the Salt Palace and Temple Square.
Getting to stay at a facility originally built by a relative of mine (my grandfather's brother developed this hotel).
I wasn't informed in advance that I would have to pay to park my rental car. I understand it is a downtown location, and the rate was reasonable. It just would have been good to know about it in advance. Also, I had trouble with the parking gate. It wouldn't let me out the first time. I had to call someone to get them to raise the gate.

Not being able to control the temperature of the room better. The heating/air conditioning unit ran nonstop.

We love this hotel for its comfort and convenience. The beds are wonderful. Staff was incredibly helpful.
One of the elevators was out of order while we were there which made for long waits to get to our room and to the lobby.
