What a unique experience! I really enjoyed the history and ambience of the Hawthorne. The restaurants were delicious (the staff were wonderful) on multiple occasions. We were very pleased with our stay.

The fold out couch. I realize that they are not the most comfortable option but I think an upgrade from the one I slept on (maybe dated from the Nixon administration?), was really bad. It sagged and sunk in the middle beyond acceptable limits. (Rm 425)

Night desk staff was great in suggesting restaurants, calling and otherwise being welcoming.

The staff at the Check in counter were excellent each time they were approached.

We did not heed the instructions for room temperature and did not sleep well do to the room temperature.

Close proximity and walking distance to everything. Staff were mostly friendly. The pillows were amazingly comfy and I even was able to order some from the manager.

At breakfast, the food wasn't delivered as ordered (such as potatoes on the plate when it was requested that none be on it) but the servers were pleasant.
