San Clu Hotel

Good location, right on sea front in quiet area. Very efficient, easy to use, air conditioning unit - vital for the hot weather we had during our stay. Comfy beds, pillows and nice bathroom.

Our room was at the back of the hotel - all rooms facing the back of the hotel are above a large generator unit which is on day and night. Very noisy. Carpet needed replacing, very marked.

Our room was right next to a noisy generator which kept us awake all night. Having had a hard day helping my mother move we were looking forward to a good night's sleep instead of which we were kept awake by the generator.

We had a room on the top floor, it looked over the car park at the back and and it was a bit tired and needed new carpet and decoration. Bathroom a good size and the beds were fine. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The position is also very good, on the seafront but with ample parking either in the car park or street. High on the cliff top though so a bit of a walk to the beach.

Went with friends and booked 2 rooms but the rooms were 2 floors apart. The second room had a big bay window with sea view which was lovely to sit at and look out and this made us quite jealous!

Upon entering the hotel took a step back in time. If you like the true English atmosphere and entourage keeps you in the right place. Just like a seaside hotel in the 60s looked like. The whole radiated "typically English" out. The lounge / bar / dining room. Rooms with old furniture and old carpet on the floor. Beds (but clean) that were a bit rickety, no double glazing, nice bathroom but with a cold and hot water faucet and not the fountain. A note on the window to keep the windows closed because of the different birds that come inside. And so deliciously old-fashioned that you can order a newspaper for the next morning. Good (continental) breakfast with plenty of food choices. Would not longer than 2 nights to stay for one night but it's really been an experience and definitely worthwhile.

Good basic accommodation for a reasonable price.
