The meal I had in the hotel dining room was excellent

Food was available even though we arrived close to midnight. We had traveled all day and were starving.

Would suggest more "gluten free" items -- one person in 133 is "celiac" - or unable to eat gluten (items made with wheat flour.)

The hotel was somewhat shabby with a dated appearance. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls in the corners of the room. The bedspread/duvet was lumpy and unattractive. Overall, I would not stay again, if there were anything else available in the area.

Multiple qualities.

Staff were quick to respond to questions, and always friendly.

Desk Manager left the desk to assist with a key problem with my room key.

All the staff were most pleasant, but I would like to single out the manager on duty on the morning of Dec. 28 who recognized a concern of mine and addressed it without being asked. Specifically, on that morning I was waiting for a cab to bring me to an interstate bus station in Portland. I had called the company to request pick up at a specific time because I had a bus reservation. When the cab didn't come, I asked the manager for the company's phone number. Just a few minutes after I had made the call, the manager came over to ask me if I had reached the cab company and I told him that I had. Some little time went by and the manager came over yet again. When I told him that the cab still had not come, he told me he would get me a ride on the hotel shuttle if the cab didn't come in another 2 minutes. He recognized that I was concerned about getting to the bus station on time. As it happened, my cab came right after his offer of help and I was on my way. What impressed me was that I never asked him for anything other than a phone number. I am sorry that I didn't get his name--I was rather preoccupied with travel arrangements that had been changed in the wake of a big snowstorm.

The ease of getting from the airport to the hotel via the friendly and courteous employees of the Hilton Garden Inn. The "yes" attitude of everyone we came in contact with.

Lack of a vent fan in the bathroom and good bed pillows.
