Holiday Inn Express Port Hueneme, an IHG Hotel

Great neighborhood. Nice spacious room and a fun pool. The complimentary breakfast was actually quite good and robust. More like a mini brunch.

The door lock to the pool was broken so our key cards didn't work. To get to the pool we had to get a front desk person to open the door. Not a huge deal, but still annoying. Also, the room across the hall was under construction. I understand that as I work in construction, but the room was wide open. No door, no barricade. Kids could wander in there. A safety issue but also unsightly. I don't want to see construction while walking to my room. At least make an attempt to hide it.

The fact that they did indeed had a portable crib in my room as I requested for my little one. Also the beds and pillows are very comfortable and they have soft and form pillows so that everyone can have their favorite :)

It smell a little bit like an old place but other than that everything was fine.

Cleanliness , appearance , accommodations , breakfast ! Staff professional and courteous.

I've stayed here since it was built in the early 2000s. The staff was excellent, the location priceless to me.

I wish I had been informed it was under renovation. I would have picked another place for this trip. The price was a little pricy for a place where not all things were inworking order

To be frank, this time I didn't enjoy my stay in your hotel at all. The cafeteria was so disappointing.Come on guys, paper plates, plastic utensils, and cups? Why lower your standard? You should be looking how to improve, or invent something new how to make it better to make people want to stay with you. Is not that I can't afford to pay my own breakfast elsewhere, but when you removed the real plates, utensils, fruit platter, waffle maker...is not the same welcoming feeling anymore. I remember when we used to stay with you when our children were little...those little details were so special to them...it made us feel as if we were still at home, but just closer to grandmas home. It doesn't take much to hire a person that has the desire to cook, and serve, or invest on a dishwasher to wash the dishes...one single person can handle your kitchen, if she or he knows how to multitask...that would solve the issue. It was so disappointing my visit at your hotel at this time, and to be honest, is most likely that I'm not going to stay, or recommend someone to satay in your hotel. The last thing to add...If you send your staff to purchase a cinnamon roll from Costco to serve, at least have them remove from the plastic container, and transfer to a basket or a platter to serve...I still can't believe or comprehend that you lower your standard to that level.

In the past few years, my family always stay in your hotel; it was convenient,comfortable, clean, staff were friendly, the cafeteria was excellent, but this time...not only the hall way was full of debris, believe me...I do understand, when you're repairing or painting, a place can get messy, but when is a hotel, and you want to have good reputation...at least take the extra mile, and have a staff vacuum to make the place look more presentable. I also want to mention, the last time a stay in your hotel, the printer in the lobby wasn't working, well, a few months later I returned, ans still not working.

Enjoyed the welcome drinks & snacks. The breakfast was good too. Package was good for the price.
