Main reason for choosing Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown: Rate
The dining room looked dreary but the hotel is only two short blocks from a row of restaurants on Granby St. Lots of good food there.
Staff was friendly though I found it a bit odd that when I asked for the hotel's phone number as I headed out for the day the staffer at the desk didn't know and had to ask another staffer.
Avoid room 629 -- at least until they replace the mattress. The side nearest the bathroom was obviously where single occupants had slept. There was an incredible drop between left and right sides.
The decor was really strange--no matching or complimentary designs in the lobby among the chairs and wallpapers but everything appeared clean and tidy.

Location only
I paid 10 dollars a day for parking when there was a huge enclosed parking lot half empty a as guest I did not see the reason for paying for parking as for the rooms it was small and the rate I feel was a little high room I have stayed in Norfolk before within blocks of the wyndham and had better rooms for less

Pillows were nice, too bad the comfort number beds did not work. Microwave and small refrigerator were nice but the microwave would not pop popcorn. View was nice.
Housekeeping must have been on vacation because they did not service our room in three days. Out of towels, shampoo, changed sheets, etc. WiFi did not work. We called a few times and told the desk but it done no good.

Restaurant hours were insufficient as they only opened certain hours in the day.
