Main reason for choosing Hampton Inn New Bern: Location
The location was good for us.
Pillows were not comfortable, the rooms could have been cleaner. Motel needed a good cleaning. We had stayed in this hotel several years ago, but I was not overly impressed this time. We have stopped staying in Choice hotels for this reason, and have used Hampton Inns else where.

Staff very friendly and courteous
We requested a non-smokig room, the room was located in a smoking hallway and reeked of cigarette smoke. We have health issues that made this a big problem.

We have stayed at this particular hotel many times and it is very convenient for us.
The hotel lobby reeks of cigarette smoke during the day and evening; so much so that it gives me a headache. The only time it is tolerable is during breakfast. There are insufficient business center equipment. For example, there is no copier or fax machine available for guest use.
