This stay was an amazing mini vacation! They have ghost tours available and we got to tour the hotel then spend the night. What a great weekend!

The people at the hotel were most pleasant and made us feel wanted. Even at our breakfast,we were given great service and good food.We had an outstanding view of the Ohio River and watched the tows go up and down during our stay.

The breakfast buffet served in The Gunroom was terrible. The food was cold and an employee was checking the heaters under the buffet trays and realized they were not lit. we watched this unfold and no one came to see if our food was acceptable. Unless I receive a refund of $30 (which included an undeserved tip)we will not be back.

Overall the Lafayette had a great atmosphere. The hotel bar staff provided excellent service, were very friendly and were helpful with restaurant suggestions.

My husband and I booked a room at the Lafayette for a wedding in the Gun Room. The wedding was great, the reception in the ballroom was wonderful. The food was delicious. The breakfast buffet the next morning was very good with just about anything you would want to eat. This hotel has a friendly and accommodating staff. The room was lovely with antique style furniture and the bed was comfortable. It is like stepping into another century. We enjoyed our stay at the Lafayette so much we would like to go back and explore Marietta and the banks of the Ohio River.
